After ordering the delivery, Lin Xinghe found a box of DVDs. The discs were placed neatly and orderly. MuMian heard him ask gently: “What do you want to see?”
The girl casually leaned on the sofa, nibbling on an apple in her hand, swinging her hand in the air, and she answered unclearly.
The boy’s fingers paused for a second, he pulled out a disc, turned on the projector, and the picture was reflected on the white wall.
At the beginning of the film, it was a scene of a man and a woman in bed. The two people were taken aback at the same time. MuMian blinked and the atmosphere was quiet.
She looked at the boy, his eyes were calm and indifferent, and the girl looked away again.
The bedroom scene soon passed, the weather was raining, and a motorcycle was driving towards the protagonist…
“What’s the name of this film?” MuMian asked.
The boy gently picked up the teacup, he took a sip of tea casually.
“Me Before You.”
Me Before You… the name was quite literary.
It was the sound of the doorbell. Lin Xinghe stood up calmly and came back with the delivery. He looked at the fried chicken box in the plastic bag and frowned slightly.
“When did you order fried chicken?”
MuMian blinked. She already finished the apple in her hands. She threw it into the trash can, wiped her fingers with a tissue, and took the fried chicken from the boy’s hands.
“Of course, you need to have fried chicken when you drink Cola.”
Lin Xinghe didn’t say anything. He sat on the sofa and continued watching the movie. MuMian was very excited. When she opened the fried chicken box, the smell came out.
She ate the food by herself, and thoughtfully pushed the fried chicken to the boy.
“My mother said good things should be shared.”
Hearing this, Lin Xinghe’s eyes lowered as he calmly scanned the fried chicken box, his brows frowned, and his voice faintly refused.
“I don’t like to eat it.”
OK, don’t like it if you don’t like it.
Is there anything in this world that he likes? MuMian didn’t know, but she knew that the fried chicken in her hand was very fragrant.
(T/N: If you want to watch the movie, I recommend skipping this part as she starts talking about the movie with spoilers)
This movie talks about a small-town girl named Louisa. Her family is poor. Because she lost her job, she had to apply for a babysitter to take care of a quadriplegic (a person affected by paralysis of all four limbs) man, the male lead.
The male protagonist is the person who was hit by a motorcycle at the beginning of the film. After that, he was completely paralyzed and had to sit in a wheelchair for the rest of his life.
The protagonist Will is a handsome man and a rich boy. He once had a beautiful girlfriend and the richest life.
But God made such a joke for him.
After the male protagonist was paralyzed, his former girlfriend was about to marry his best brother. When the male protagonist barely smiled and said congratulations, it made people very sad.
Because the male protagonist couldn’t accept his appearance, he loved his previous life, so he decided to euthanasia (T/N: intentionally ending a life to relieve pain and suffering). After Louisa learned about it, she decided to give him the confidence to live.
Louisa took Will to see Marseilles (a port city in southern France), watched movies together, listened to classical music together, opened up together, curled up beside him in late-night confession, and they traveled together.
They fell in love and kissed.
But the protagonist still chose euthanasia because he couldn’t accept that his most beloved girl was wearing the most beautiful dress in front of him, but he couldn’t do anything to her. He would spend the rest of his life in a wheelchair.
In the film, the male protagonist said such a sentence.
“You are the only reason I wake up every morning.”
Louisa went to France after the death of the protagonist.
Put on the yellow and black striped body stockings that are extremely childish in the eyes of others, live for yourself, walk out of the town, learn your favorite clothing design, and no longer be bound by poor families.
She received a letter from the male lead a few months after.
“…On the other side of the bridge on the right, you will see the Artisan perfume shop. Go and try the “Chasing the Butterfly” perfume. I always think it will suit you… At least don’t be tied to what we call home, live boldly in this small town.”
T/N: Does anyone know if the beginning of the movie is actually a bed scene? I never saw the movie so I don’t know. LOL
